With lot of zeal and passion Farzana Cama Balpande, Head at Book A Smile – A BookMyShow Charity initiative came on board in November 2014 to impart her great services to the organization which is working towards the cause of bringing smiles on the faces of the less privileged class of society through art, culture, education and sports.
Having a great work experience of 20 years in the domain of Childhood Education and Early Childhood Care, Ms. Balpande is constantly leveraging all her energies in bringing joys in the lives of those who are not able to achieve them due to their life’s struggles and challenges. Under her strong leadership, Book a Smile is able to spread a lot of awareness at the PAN India level about various social causes.
She is responsible for creating a charity model for BookMyShow consumers and has spearheaded multiple internal campaigns wherein the employees have raised money for various causes.
It is Ms. Balpande’s great determination towards social work that the organization is able to spread it wings of help to a lot of needy people all around the globe. Recently, the organization kick-started campaigns in which it took the poor children for a special screening of Jungle Book as well as also organized a special screening of Sultan for 1200 underprivileged kids in Mumbai. The great actor and main lead of the movie Salman Khan personally graced the event and surprised the children. Currently, the organization is working with more than 80 NGOs across the country and have impacted the lives of 10,000 kids through the initiative.
Apart from it, being the driving force as well as the cheerful head of the organization Ms. Balpande extended her support to 8 young football players from Ranchi as well as Bangalore in order to participate in the Street Football World Festival in 2016. She also enables great support to the para-swimmer Vishwas who represented India in the Speedo Can AM Para-Swimming Championship. In addition to it on various special days, the organization has launched initiatives to empower the womenfolk as well as senior citizens across the country.
Talking about the future plans of the organization, Ms. Balpande hopes to expand her reach to almost each and every NGO across the country in order to bring the smile on the less fortunate. Being a travel person Ms. Balpande loves to explore new territories with her husband and friends as well as enjoy spending time with her daughter and 22 months Jack Russell Terrier.
