Experience Blindness With “Dialogue in The Dark”

Darkness pervading all over, nothing could be seen even with fully opened eyes and in the midst of it your favorite cuisine is being served and through the aroma you can make out that what the real food is all about and after that a tour in darkness with sticks makes you live a life full of challenges and adventure. But can you really live like this throughout your life is a big question that “Dialogue in The Dark “ ask its visitors when they go for food in this famous restaurant running successfully by Blind people.

“What is Dialogue in The Dark”?

Well it is an initiative started in Germany during 1988 with an aim to create sustainable social impact by creating meaningful employment for the visually impaired. In India it had opened its doors in pearl city of Hyderabad. It functions in four different framework and provide employment to the blind people.

What Blind People do there?

To make the visually impaired people have a sustainable life the work is divided in four different fields. These people works as Exhibition Guides, Workshop Guides, Dining Guides and Café Guides. DID as its known organize Exhibitions, Educational Workshops, Dining facilities and manage Café to serve the guests. It is the soul duty of these visually impaired guides to ensure the safety of the guests who come over there.

What is the aim behind DID?

There are two major aims behind DID. One was to make the society sensitize towards the issue of visually impaired. By keeping the whole atmosphere of the place dark and only through the means of other senses a perfect person is able to move around the place the initiative is asking the people to look that how difficult is life for those who are not able to see yet they live it joyfully. It tries to ask the society to be little considerate towards the Blind.

Secondly the major aim was to provide independence to the visually impaired who can earn their livelihoods through it. Through guiding people in dark these visually impaired guides are gaining a sense of confidence and are able to arouse their self-esteem. They too have a place and platform where these people are able to showcase their talent and can show the world that they are the powerful warriors.

Wow, is the only word that comes out when seeing the concept that how a platform is being made to serve the blind. People should take it as an inspiration and should start serving the visually impaired.
