Born in the poor family in West Bengal, Vicky Roy ran away from home at a young age of 11 only to land as a ragpicker at New Delhi Railway station. Not having sufficient money to earn his living Vicky started working in a restaurant as a dishwasher. Once a volunteer from Salaam Baalak Trust happened to see him and took him to the trust. He studied there but had a deep fascination towards photography.
One day the trust was visited by a British photographer who had changed the course of his life. Vicky has organized a lot of solo photography exhibitions in abroad and had won lot of accolades. He also took part and won international competitions of photography. Watch the video to know his journey!
