Founded in August 2012 in Mumbai the Fight Hunger Foundation is a not for profit, non-political and non-religious organization registered under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956. It advocates for community-based management of acute malnutrition, and conducts several pilot projects in partnership with the Department of Health and local organizations. Fight Hunger Foundation also undertakes studies to explore and test the efficiency of local ready-to-use therapeutic food products, and their effectiveness.

Headquartered at Bangalore the Akshaya Patra Foundation is a not for profit organization that strives to fight issues like hunger and malnutrition in India. Through the implementation of the Mid-Day Meal Scheme in the Government schools and Government aided schools, Akshaya Patra aims not only to fight hunger but also to bring children to school.
