Manipur students ‘denied’ entry into Taj Mahal, Because They ‘Resembled Foreigners’
Being on all India educational tour the Manipuri students from the Central Agricultural University faced racism when the CISF personnel at Taj Mahal barred their entry to the monument, as they “resembled foreigners.
They were allegedly asked for Rs. 1000 entry fee ticket whereas the Indian citizens have to pay a nominal fee of Rs 40.Though they showed Id cards, an official letter if the national tour the CISF personnels were not convinced.
It was only upon the intervention of the tourism police that the students were allowed entry. The students also stated about the misbehavior and the nationality proof asked from them.
The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI has ordered an inquiry).
