Ben, a street dog found almost cut into two by a metal wire in Rajasthan now has a lease of life.
He was saved by NGO Animal Aid Aid unlimited, known for such heroic brink-of-death rescues.
“The wire was tied so tight, and had been tied so long (possibly months), that in places muscle had even grown over the wire”, the NGO said.
Yet, Ben had survived this torture.
It is not known whether this pain was inflicted on him by a cruel person, or maybe he was trapped in a barbed wire fence.
“After we removed the wire and began his treatment for the pain and infection much of his suffering was immediately relieved”
Not for the faint of heart, this video shows Ben being taken to the Animal Aid Unlimited shelter in ___, Rajasthan.
“…Ben burst onto the scene with so much joy in life that we all just stood back in wonder” Veterinarians cut away the wire after he was sedated, and it had to be pulled out of his body.
‘After we removed the wire and began his treatment for the pain and infection much of his suffering was immediately relieved, but he still had a long healing process ahead”
The wound was flushed out and bandaged regularly. “…it’s as if he held on to a very specific dream: he simply had to play again. He would wait as long as it took, but he had to play.”
