One of India’s leading healthcare networks, Oxxy has announced that it’ll make a fixed deposit of Rs. 11,000 in the name of every girl child born in the country. The announcement came after India’s marvellous wins in the Rio games, courtesy the women champions.
The 3-year-old company, Oxxy is relatively new in the healthcare market but has already done an impressive job of screening more than 15 million people in the country.
Sheetal Kapoor, the co-founder of the organization said, “Oxxy’s vision is to have next generation in India extremely healthy where girls are treated with respect and at par with the boys. After the bronze and silver medals in the recent Olympics, Oxxy is helping every girl child born in India to aim for gold.”
The entire funding will be borne by Oxxy, leaving the parents completely free of their financial contributions.
Sheetal added, “Having a baby girl is a joy and as a parent there are various aspects they need to keep in mind while raising a girl: saving for her higher education, professional goals and marriage.”
And the efforts won’t just stop here. Oxxy will also take the responsibility of educating expecting mothers about the importance of timely tests and precautions, as per the global standards. Hopefully, these steps will drastically help bring down the infant mortality rate in India.
