Woman police officer, Shreshtha Thakur, who warded off BJP leaders in Bulandshahar and sent five of them to jail for creating hurdles in discharging government duties, was transferred to Bahraich on Saturday.
The police officer of the Syana circle was transferred a week after the incident following a meeting of a delegation of the party’s 11 MLAs and MP with the chief minister over the issue.
Local leaders, taking the matter to their ego, pressed the high command to initiate action against the cop. Mukesh Bhardwaj, the party city president, made every possible effort asserting that Thakur’s transfer is necessary to keep the party’s pride intact. He also charged the cop with objectionable language against CM Yogi Adityanath and other party leaders.
Circle Officer Shrestha Thakur didn’t step back when a mob gathered to protest a challan which was received by their BJP leader Pramod Lodhi for not having proper documentation of his vehicle.
“You please go and get written orders from the Chief Minister that the police have no right to check vehicles… that we can’t do our job,” Thakur unflinchingly tells Lodhi.
She also adds that such workers bring a bad name to the party and start goondaraj in the vicinity.
